Holland

From Our President of EKO

These are some pictures from the Dutch Summercamp. It was a great success, with Sato-Sensei becoming very fast a much liked instructor (and singer, by the way ...).

There were overall 120 attendants from 5 countries; we trained from friday afternoon 15.00 hours until sunday afternoon 13.00 hours, in all some 16 hours of effective training. The camp site was near the village of Gorssel, in the eastern part of Holland. Guest Instructir was K-1 Max challenger and 7-fold kick-boxing world champion Faldir Chahbari (who started his career with training in kyokushin). Sem Schilt was supposed to be there, but unexpectedly he had to fight the sunday of the camp in Japan, just as Peter Aerts and Remy Bonjasky (the 13th of July). But Faldir gave a really interesting lesson on moving in and out while blocking low kicks. Sem will be there next year, he promised. Shihan Alwyn Heath was also a guest instructor.

During the camp there were examinations for 1st kyu and Shodan. Of the 9 candidates, three passed.

Very nice to look at: on the site www.ifight.eu  there is a short film (3 minutes) of the camp, which gives a very nice impression.

if you like more pictures, please ask for them and I will have them sent!

Regards  Koen Sharrenberg President of E.K.O.
